The Story of Paragon as told by Sage_Mathias:[edit | edit source]

"I was at my group base Valinor when my friend Rpb7191, whom I’ve based with before, messaged me saying he had a good location for a base and he was wondering if I would like to come base with him. I agreed to, and started packing up all my gear in shulkers and prepared myself to /kill to spawn, rpb7191 seemed like he was in a rush so I barely got everything done that I needed to do before leaving. As I arrived at spawn it took me a little while to find a portal, but when I did, I just started walking down the highway to the coords rpb7191 had given. It took me a couple times until I arrived at the location, rpb7191 had built some chests so around it I built the first cottage of the Paragon. Rpb7191 came on a few times after that and made goals for us, but then he left 2b2t. I began to make the road through town. It was at the road that lead me to finding my neighbors AlienAgent124 and Scully__ the builders of Cobbletown. I bred a donkey with their horse and got a mule, which I named Shifter’s son after his Father, the horse named Shifter. I built the +1 Extra Life Storage facility and started farming crops and breeding livestock. I Added some paths around the area and landscaped the sides of the road with petunias and oak leaves. Next I built the gatehouse and additional road running perpendicular to the main road, and I also expanded the walls on each side of the road for the entire length of road systems. It was at this time I made the Paragon banner, an orange cross on a white background. This was to symbolize the colors of the sandstone and acacia wood I used to build everything. The name Paragon was suggested by Rpb7191 and I agreed that’s what we would call the base. I built the small guest cottage and made some tree farms for wood supplies. Then I decided I would expand across the bay to the land beyond it. I began by building the docks and a small hut that I used for afk fishing. Next I built the Longhouse and started working on the library and a bridge to connect them to the rest of town. I had done an immense amount of leveling of the terrain, and continued to build the roads out. It was at this point I was done building and decided to leave, I went to the top of orthanc tower and set flight with my elytra, I flew over the south canal and all the way to Sniper's Peaceful Island where I met Auchzezt and he gave me a replacement elytra as mine was in need of mending."

" I rested there and when I was ready to leave I had to set out on foot, Hause had disabled elytra. I made my journey home to Valinor and I told friends to visit Paragon ELVeng a member of Sniper's island went there and Myne1001 visited as he and Thebes were repairing the canal after hhh1 had griefed it. I invited a few new players to Paragon but none came. Then a friend by the name of Mr Butterman became one of the only other members of Paragon, he built a lovely horse stable and went out on his own after getting some simple supplies from the storage area."

"Time passed on and I did not go back to Paragon, I met Drewbot9000 and told him of Paragon, and he went there to check on it. It was still in good shape at the time, and he went on to find a home at Peaceful Island. Other new players visited, but I was unaware, and it was at this time Team Inferno discovered the base and decided to inhabit it and redesign the Desert temple which inspired the theme of the base's sandstone and orange acacia wood architecture. Retronaux, the leader of Team Inferno, would invite members of his faction to base there and they began to migrate and build simple things all of which I was unaware of as I was back at Valinor at the time around December 2017. A few more random visitors came and then unfortunately things started to go badly for the base. A powerful group known as the Emperium had been secretly insiding the Team Inferno, and when they saw Paragon as a base on their factions list they decided to target it. They came and blew up the Paragon not knowing it was founded by me, Sage_Mathias, thinking it was a Team Inferno Base. This would have happened around January 5th 2018. I decided to set a pearl at Valinor and head to spawn January 15th and after visiting the Beta Isles, built by Kyle_Raynor_Ion, 0xymoron and it’syoungdaddy I figured I’d check out my old base Paragon and see if it was still in one piece. I met some nice players on my journey through the greater spawn area. Patrick Sherlock of Goodwill Bazaar and I visited a sanctuary named Pumpkin King Farm, giving them a few items. When I finally got to Paragon I saw the state it was in January 18 2018 it was in ruins."

Description[edit | edit source]

The paragon was actually two bases: Paragon itself, a town made primarily from sandstone and acacia wood, situated between a desert and swamp, and Cobbletown, an older base made mostly from cobblestone and oak wood, in a plains biome to the south. The two bases were built in close proximity by accident and sort of merged once they discovered each other.

Paragon was a collection of detailed, medium-sized buildings connected by cobblestone and dirt path roadways, each with a slightly different design scheme. A large sandstone roadway ran north to south through the middle of it. Cobbletown consisted of a few small buildings connected by dirt paths, plus a few large buildings, including an arena and a tower to the height limit. An underground hall and a large hole were located to the south.

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • Contrary to popular belief, Paragon/Cobbletown was not built by Infrared, but rather a group of independent players that preceded them. The base was later discovered and occupied by team Infrared (called Inferno at the time) as they were given the impression by one of their members that he had built it himself, and it was later griefed by The Emperium, who thought the base had been founded by Inferno/infrared.
  • The first structure built at Cobbletown was created on may 28th of 2016, just four days before TheCampingRusher first joined.
  • Then Sage_Mathias and Rpb7191 came and based with Sage and they developed the paragon. Paragon was indeed a beautiful base of its scale.
